- USB-C RECHARGEABLE TONE GENERATOR: No more mid-job 9V battery runs — this AMPCOM rechargeable network cable tester runs 7.5 hours on a built-in lithium battery, charges fully in 2 hours via any USB-C port and outlasts disposable battery testers 5:1 so you finish the job without hunting for spares
- PRECISION WIRE & CABLE TRACER: This tone generator and probe kit traces RJ45/RJ11 cables through drywall, conduits, dense patch panels and other complex wiring scenarios(Not suitable for use on concrete walls, metal conduits and similar environments). It features a sensitivity adjustment knob to regulate signal strength, plus dual-mode audio tones for target verification. A 3.5mm earphone jack is available for use in noisy server rooms.
- POE-SAFE CONTINUITY & WIREMAP TEST: This network cable tester and tracer kit verifies T568A/B pinout on Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A/CAT7/CAT8 runs and tests RJ11 telephone line polarity — all with ≤100V over-voltage protection so you can safely connect to live PoE switches without shorting your ethernet cable tester
- NCV AC VOLTAGE DETECTION: Before tracing data cables through shared conduits and junction boxes, the built-in NCV sensor identifies live 110V/220V AC circuits at outlets, switches and exposed wires — preventing accidental contact with live electrical lines during network maintenance
- SWITCH PORT FLASH - Supports connecting Tone Generator and switches via network cables. The corresponding switch port will flash to realize fast cable tracing. Built-in chip activates switch signals and flashing lights stably and safely, with no risk of swtich damage
- LOW-LIGHT READY KIT: Integrated LED flashlight illuminates dark wiring closets and crawl spaces — includes RJ45/RJ11 transmitter, receiver probe, USB-C charging cable, 3.5mm earphone, alligator clip, 1x RJ45 cable, 1x RJ11 cable, storage bag and user manual
Estimated shipping
Select a product to estimate shipping. It is not only a network cable tracer, but also a network tester.
Built-in rechargeable battery. No extra AA or 9V batteries required. Up to 24 hours of use on a single charge.
Do I need to buy batteries? How long does it last?
No. It has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery and charges directly via USB-C (about 2 hours for a full charge) — no more 9V or AA batteries needed. A full charge provides about 7.5 hours of continuous use,
Can I test on PoE switches? Will it burn out?
Yes. The tester features 100V overload protection, so it can safely connect to PoE switches for tracing and wiremap testing. Its NCV non-contact voltage detection also senses 110V/220V AC circuits
What cables and connectors does it support?**
It supports RJ45 network cables (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A/Cat7/Cat8, shielded and unshielded) and RJ11 telephone lines, testing per T568A/B for open, short, miswire and reversed pairs.
How do I use it in noisy server rooms or dark spaces?
It has a 3.5mm headphone jack — plug in earphones to monitor the tone silently in noisy environments. A built-in LED flashlight ensures visibility in dark racks, attics and crawl spaces.
